in School and Life

About Us
Little Lamb’s Early Childhood Center is a Christian childcare and preschool in Effingham, IL. Our program is research-based and designed according to the principles we know will help children succeed in school and life. We want to build these foundations in every child, making a difference in the future.
Our Mission & Purpose
Little Lamb’s Early Childhood Center will provide Christian childcare and preschool programs so that children and families will grow in the knowledge of Jesus as their Savior and, through high-quality learning experiences, build educational foundations for success in school and life.
Our purpose:
- To provide Christian education through Bible stories, songs, prayers, and Christian morals and values, integrated throughout the day
- To provide warm, loving, nurturing care so that children feel loved, accepted, and safe
- To provide the highest quality, developmentally appropriate early learning experiences to meet the individual needs of every child
- To provide educational activities designed to support the “whole” child: emotionally, socially, physically, intellectually, spiritually, and creatively in order to prepare children for school
- To provide firm, consistent, loving guidance so that children learn to respect other children and adults
Our Core Values
At Little Lamb’s Early Childhood Center, we believe that:
- Children are precious, unique individuals, each a special gift from God with different needs and styles of learning
- Children need loving, caring, and trusting relationships in order to feel loved, accepted, and safe
- Children need a positive, supportive atmosphere through interaction with peers and adults both individually and in a group to develop a positive self-concept
- Children need the freedom to explore and make free choices within age-appropriate limits to develop independence and self-confidence
- Children need a flexible schedule and a reliable routine to develop neurological connections and brain patterns for optimal development
- Children need to be presented with a wide variety of hands-on activities, opportunities for play, and guided experiences to learn
- Children need the school and the home to form a cooperative partnership through open communication and mutual understanding in order to best serve each child
